Beverly Beach Camptown RV Resort Review – What You Need To Know

On our 2021 Florida RV trip, Kim talked me into staying at Beverly Beach Camptown RV Resort. This is truly beach front camping…I mean our RV was backed up literally 3 feet from the sand. Initially I was hesitant when Kim suggested it, but it turned out be be a great experience. If you are traveling to Florida’s east coast and are interested in camping at the beach, read on to find out all you need to know about this unique RV destination.

Location of Beverly Beach Camptown RV Resort

Beverly Beach Camptown is located on Florida’s east coast in the town of Flagler Beach, approximately half-way between St Augustine, FL and Daytona Beach, FL, It’s location is good for using as a home base to check out either of those towns, or for just soaking up rays on the beach.

About Beverly Beach Camptown RV Resort

Beverly Beach Camptown is about as close to the beach as you can get on Florida’s east coast. Flagler Beach is a somewhat gravelly sand (is gravelly a word?) that actually consists of very small stone pebbles. The beach had a large amount of seaweed washed up on it while we were there, but I’m not sure if this is the norm for that area or was just an anomaly. It’s also important to note that Flagler Beach is pet friendly (which we’ve found to be somewhat rare in Florida) and ended up being Sandi’s first ever beach experience…turns out that she is more of a mountain girl than a beach girl!

The campground itself offers 180 RV sites, all with full-hookups and 50 amp service. So, if you’re a 30 amp rig (like us) be sure to bring a dog-bone 50 amp to 30 amp converter.

The campground is divided into two main sections, depending on which side of Highway A1A you choose to be on. The part of the campground on the west side of the highway offers many RV sites and honors Good Sam discounts. Beach access is available by simply crossing the highway.

For those that choose to be closer to the beach, the part of the campground on the east side of the highway offers sites with ocean views and beach front access. We were in site number 14 which backed directly up to the seawall (which is a 4 foot wide walkway that runs along the edge of the beach) with the beach beginning immediately after. From our RV door to the sand was literally 10 feet, which provided amazing views directly from the rear bedroom window of our rig.

Sites 47-62 are considered to be premier beachfront sites, and offer a larger site (60 feet long by 25 feet wide) with a cement patio and table. All other beach front sites are approximately 58 feet in length (with a width that varies) and feature a cement patio and picnic table.

Amenities at Beverly Beach Camptown RV Resort

So let’s face it, you’re not going to Beverly Beach Camptown for the pool, blazing fast Wi-Fi, or great water pressure. And that’s a good thing…because they have none of that! What they do offer, are amazing beach views and the ability to be closer to the beach than anywhere else we’ve found on Florida’s East Coast.

Insider Tips

  • Due to its location and beachfront access, this campground is ridiculously popular. So if you’re interested in staying there I would make reservations well in advance.
  • The campground offers Wi-Fi, but we were never able to get it to work. Despite using the login name and password supplied we were never able to connect. Fortunately we had decent cellular data service with our Verizon unlimited plan
  • We found the water pressure at our site to be in a word…terrible! Literally the water pressure from our spigot was less than 20 psi, which makes it all but unusable. Fortunately, we’ve discovered a hack for getting around this type of thing. We basically turn on the water and use it to fill our fresh tank (which in this case took about an hour to fill 50 gallons). Then we were able to use our water pump and get nice pressure from our tank for showers, washing dishes, etc.
  • Drones are allowed in this area so if you have one, be sure to bring it. You can get some pretty amazing footage from this location.
  • As we mentioned before, Flagler Beach is pet friendly. But dogs must be on a leash at all times.
