The City Life – Camping With Elvis In Memphis

Graceland RV Park and Campground (review)

Interested in camping in the land of the delta blues?  We tried out Graceland RV Park and Campground on our recent Weekend Warrior trip to Memphis (click here for that Weekend Warrior Guide), and here are our thoughts….

Location of Graceland RV Park and Campground

This RV park is located with in the city limits of Memphis, TN. Technically speaking, the RV. park is on Elvis Presley Blvd, just off of I-55 in the southern portion of Memphis. The Graceland estate is directly across the street (albeit a busy street), but the tour center and admissions entrance is directly next to the campground and within easy walking distance (about 1 city block).

About Graceland RV Park

The campground is directly affiliated with Graceland (home of Elvis Presley) and features an easy walk to the Graceland visitors center and tour headquarters. The RV park stretches over 19 acres and offers 70 campsites and 4 cabins for rent. Multiple campsite types are available, including full hookup (30/50 amp, water & sewer), partial hookup (electric & water only), primitive tent site and the 4-bed cabins.

Check-in is not specified / Check-out is 11:00 AM

Amenities at Graceland RV Park

  • Pet Walk
  • Pool
  • Walking Trail (short)
  • Playground
  • Full service bathhouse onsite (with laundry service available).
  • 24 Hour Security…Graceland isn’t located in the most glamorous part of Memphis. The neighborhood was stellar when the King lived here, but has changed a lot since his death.  Pulling off I-55 and driving down Elvis Presley Blvd will make you second guess your decision to stay, but the campground features 24-hour security  which does an excellent job of stopping all traffic entering and exiting the park, and patrolling the property on a regular basis.  This helped us feel safe and secure while staying here.

Insider Tips

  • No Campfires are allowed since the park is located within the city limits of Memphis
  • Water pressure here is fairly high (around 75 psi) so make sure to have a water pressure regulator attached
  • Online reservations were not an option at the time of this writing, but can be made by phone…(866) 571-9236
  • Good Sam discounts are honored here, so show your card to save 10%
ProsCons
24 hour security does a great job of patrolling the campground routinely.Need for Security
The location is fairly ideal…within walking distance to Graceland,
15-20 minute drive to the heart of downtown.
Sites can be a bit tight and tricky to back into
Full hookup camping inside a major US city for $46/night is hard to beat. The campground offers several amenities, but these all seemed a bit old
and could benefit from a renovation/upgrade.
