On our recent trip to Florida, we enjoyed a night time reprieve at Eagles Roost RV Resort in Valdosta, GA. This quaint little campground was just what we needed after a 6 hour day of driving, allowing us to hook-up, relax and recharge. If you have plans that will be taking you near the Florida-Georgia line, read on to find out all you need to know about this beautiful little park.

Location of Eagles Roost RV Resort
Eagles Roost RV Resort is located just south of Valdosta, GA approximately 11 miles north of the Florida – Georgia state line. We noticed several campgrounds in Valdosta, and this one seemed to be the closest to Florida…just on the south edge of town.
It’s also conveniently located just off of I-75, making it a quick and easy stop for weary travelers like us. You can actually see the interstate from the campground, so of course there is some corresponding road noise that comes along with the location but we didn;t find it opressive or distracting at all.
About Eagles Roost RV Resort
Eagles Roost is a privately owned campground that features just over 100 RV campsites as well as 11 tent sites. The RV sites are all pull-through and full-hookup (electric/water/sewer) with a mixture of 30 amp & 50 amp service (most are paved and level also !), while each of the tent sites offers electric and water.
We stayed in the “A” section which contains fairly spacious paved, pull-through, full-hookup sites. We found that our site (A-11) was very level (no need for the Anderson levelers here!) and long enough so that we didn’t even have to unhitch for the night, which made setup a breeze after our 6 hour drive day.
Our cost (after Good Sam Discount) including tax was $38.34 for the one night…not bad at all!
Walking around the campground that evening, we were amazed by the beauty of the place…old majestic oak trees draped romantically with Spanish moss adorn the landscape creating a relaxing and peaceful environment that was just what we needed.
In fact, the “B” section of the campground offers several “Super Sites” which are extra long, paved, pull through, full hook-up sites located amongst the largest and most beautiful trees on the property. These sites also feature a small patio, a charcoal grill and patio furniture to help you relax.
Kim and I both commented how much this little campground reminded us of Oak Alley Plantation in Louisiana, which also features huge oaks covered in Spanish moss. All in all, this might be the prettiest little campground we’ve ever seen!

Insider Tips
- Super Sites (56-63) are extra beautiful and may be the nicest on property. But be aware….due to the location of the huge (and beautiful) oaks, some may be a little tricky to get into and out of (particularly sites B-58, B-59, B-61, and B-62).
- Site B-63
- Water pressure here is low (about 30 psi) which can make it difficult to shower, although not impossible.
- Wifi here is pretty decent (for a campground), but cellular service is a bit slower than expected.
- No campfires are allowed.
- The playground consists of “classic” playground toys…old but well maintained. They reminded us of the swings and metal slides we grew up with as kids.
Pros | Cons |
Easy to find – just off I-75 | Water pressure is quite low (30 psi) |
Unexpectedly beautiful landscape – large, old oak trees draped with Spanish moss | Cellular (Verizon) service slower than expected (of course this isn’t the campground’s fault, but still something to be mindful of) |
Reasonably good campground Wifi | Website could be updated – online booking is not available…either call the campground or fill out online form and wait for reply |
Cost – very reasonably priced | Road noise from nearby Interstate |
